Watercolour Art Classes in Twickenham.

FREE Trial Watercolour Painting Class

Creative Art Twickenham, the watercolour art classes based at the ETNA Centre in East Twickenham, has announced a series of free trial art classes for would-be watercolour painters who don’t yet feel confident enough to book for a whole term.
Course organiser, Alison Callen, explains the new opportunities:

“We have been listening to our callers and find people who have not attended classes before who are very interested but hesitant about committing to a full 12-class term immediately.
With a new expanded schedule and spaces on both morning and afternoon classes on Wednesdays, we can, during the Summer Term, make a number of free one-class trial places available to people who would like to know more before deciding what to do. Visitors are under no obligation but, if the trial experience is positive, they then have the options of joining the rest of the course, booking for the Autumn Term or taking one of our special 4-week ‘Discovering Watercolour’ courses, for extended experience before taking up this creative and highly sociable hobby. Our ‘Discovering Watercolour’ 4-week course is also available as a gift voucher – an unusual and thoughtful gift for anyone seeking a new hobby.”
Creative Art Twickenham watercolour classes are led by well-known Twickenham artist and expert tutor, Lee Campbell, and are held in The Green Room at the ETNA Centre in East Twickenham.

The Courses

Two terms of 12-week art classes will focus on the joys of watercolour painting. We will cover all the techniques required to produce successful and fulfilling watercolours.

Part of the excitement of working in watercolour is that you never really know exactly what is going to happen. Each of our twelve session terms will give you opportunities to discover this as your skills develop. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or an experienced painter – the challenges set will help you to improve and enjoy.

Each three-hour session will cover a technical skill and a subject, and there will be time for free expression and personal interests. Small classes with time for individual tuition mean that beginners and more experienced artists can sit happily side-by-side and enjoy a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

“Shells” by Alison – a beginner

As the course progresses, you will discover the techniques, principles and processes which enable you to create beautiful effects with watercolour. We will explore colour theory and how to mix colours and understand different wash techniques.

There will be tutor-led demonstrations and time for one-to-one guidance with constructive feedback. Group discussions in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with like-minded fellow painters will help everyone to develop and improve.
What is most important is that your knowledge, experience and confidence grows over the weeks and that you, in time, develop your own personal style.
