Free public-speaking workshop

Twickenham is proud to welcome local boy, Mike Storkey, International President of Toastmasters International, back to his hometown.

On Wednesday the 3rd May 2017, 7pm-10pm at The Shack, Riverside Communicators, Twickenham’s vibrant, community public-speaking group will be hosting a very special evening in honour of the visit.

Come along and learn:

How to tell stories
To make your point with confidence
How to become a brilliant communicator
To structure and deliver a memorable speech/presentation
To combat fear of public speaking in a nurturing community group

Mike Storkey lived in Twickenham until his family emigrated to Australia. He now heads an international non-profit organization, based in California, with meeting locations in 142 countries.

The Toastmasters International President will be taking to the stage to deliver a keynote address entitled ‘Step Out, Step Up and Seize the Opportunity’.

If you think you can or can’t, you’re right, however you will never know until you step out of your comfort zone. Instead of being defined by your own self-belief, seize every opportunity that comes your way. You could be astonished at where it leads!

In addition, we will also be welcoming Kevin Baggs from East Hertfordshire Speakers who will be delivering an educational session on how to craft and write speeches.

This is a valuable opportunity to listen to a world-class public speaker, learn valuable new skills and find out more about Toastmasters.

Please be aware, this event is being held upstairs at The Shack 68 on London Road (next to Twickenham railway station) and not at our usual venue at York House. If you would like to attend, please sign up for a complimentary ticket on the link below.
