The inaugural Tug of War (Eel Pie & Cabbage Patch Challenge)outside the Eel Pie Pub Church Street on Friday the 9th of June kicks off the Twick Fest 2017 which will end on the 25th of June with the Crown Road St Margaret’s Summer Fete. There will be regattas, School, community & Church Fetes, as well as Church Street’s Craft Fair on the 10th, Al Fresco throughout June, & Go Green event on the 17th and 18th of June, & many other fantastic local events! We will keep updating the online calendar with events as they come in and will be producing 30,000 A5 Festival Guides which will be distributed to Twickenham residents and businesses in TW1 and TW2 postcodes by the end of May.

Jon McPherson (47) from Chiswick has lived with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s for seven years and he has decided to “conquer the top of Bennachie” – a range of hills in Aberdeenshire with several tops, the highest of which, Oxen Craig, has a height of 528 m (1733 feet). He has been supported through his illness by Twickenham Based charity INS and is trying to raise money for the charity to help them continue to help people like him.
Twickenham’s Jess Parker has broken the world record for hula-hooping 10 kilometres – and she is now officially listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Our French Connection! This year is the 40th anniversary of the twinning between Richmond Borough and Fontainebleau which lies 30 miles south of Paris.To mark the occasion a cycle ride is being organised in aid of StreetInvest, a local charity that supports street children around the world and will soon be training detached youth workers in the UK. The Ride 40 Anniversary cycle challenge covers 263 miles over 5 days and 4 nights.
